Big Lots Space Heater Recall

Product recall on Portable Space Heaters and Portable Oscillating Space Heaters by Big Lots of Columbus, Ohio; sold at Big Lots stores from September 2010 through March 2012. Two models of 1500 watt Climate Keeper ceramic heaters. They have a fan, two dials on top of the unit, a mesh panel in front, and the name “Climate Keeper” on the bottom. One model has a grey plastic housing; the other is an oscillating heater with silver-grey plastic housing, a molded handle on top of the heater, and a small extra button between the two dials which controls the oscillation.

There have been four reported accounts that these units can overheat and melt, posing a fire or electric shock hazard. There are no reports of injury, fire, or property damage, though.
