Gas Heaters

A safe and eco-friendly heating option, both indoors and out

Gas heaters may seem complicated but they are in fact easy to use and completely safe for both work spaces and outdoors. In addition, gas heaters can allow you to save money while reducing your carbon footprint. Read on to learn more about how they work and whether or not they are the best option for you. Once you've learned the ins and outs, take a look at our selection of gas heaters at!

How They Work

Gas heaters can operate on either natural gas, butane, propane, kerosene, or liquefied petroleum gas. They can either be flued or non-flued and typically, portable gas heaters do not have a flue. Non-flued heaters are completely safe as long as there is proper ventilation in the space you are heating. Keep them clean and always turn them off before leaving.

If you are concerned about explosions or emissions, you have no reason to worry. Designers and manufacturers take every precaution to make sure tanks are puncture-resistant to reduce the likelihood of gas leaks. As long as the unit is used and assembled properly, you are all set. Plus, propane gas is the least flammable of all alternative fuels. If your heater uses liquid petroleum, make sure the heater has a tip-over cut-off feature and overheat protection.

Everybody is looking to reduce their impact on the environment. Propane gas heaters in particular are a very green option. This clean energy source is sulfur and lead free and has very low carbon dioxide emissions. Liquid petroleum isn't a bad option either since it is biodegradable and non-toxic.

Gas Heater Options

Patio Heaters

These gas heaters are perfect for outdoor entertaining, especially when the nights get cooler. They are portable and require no installation. If you are going with a propane option, attaching the propane tank is extremely easy as long as you carefully follow the manufacturer's directions.

Tank-Top Heater

If you need to heat an industrial work space, a tank-top gas heater might be the best solution. These heaters consist of an infrared heater attached to a propane tank. Because they do not require electricity, they are perfect for construction sites and provide immediate, direct heat where needed.

Portable Space Heaters

These powerful space heaters typically run on kerosene or some other type of heating oil such as liquid petroleum. Many models are lightweight and easy to transport but can still heat a space up to 2500 square feet!
